Over the next decade 3.8 million new manufacturing workers will need to be hired in the US. New advanced manufacturing technologies bring about whole new careers, requiring a skilled workforce interested in pursuing them.
Since 2012, Manufacturing Day has been held on the first Friday in October to show students, educators, parents, and the public what modern manufacturing is all about. The manufacturing industry’s biggest annual event helps inspire the next generation of creators. From process engineers to data analysts to machine operators, and all of the operations in between, there is a place for everyone in manufacturing.
Roanoke County Economic Development and Roanoke County Public Schools are joining the movement to fill the skills gap and inspire the future workforce by partnering with local manufacturers who hosted five #MFGDay24 events with our five high schools.
