President Biden addressed the nation in a twelve-minute speech from the White House at 8 p.m. (EDT) on July 24 to explain why he was no longer the Democrat presidential nominee. At least that is what I thought when I turned on WDBJ-7 (CBS), but I was highly mistaken.
Forbes estimated the next day that only a paltry twenty-three million people watched his speech. I suspect that half the people who were watching it were hoping for a forthright resignation address like President Nixon’s on August 8, 1974. I was one of them. However, I was soon sadly disappointed
Biden while somberly sitting at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office claimed to be “surrounded by portraits of extraordinary American presidents” such as Jefferson and Lincoln. Sadly, his own portrait will never hang on these hallowed walls since he has been the worst U.S. President since James Buchanan (1857-61). His monotone speech while reading the teleprompter quickly resembled something between a patriotic pep talk and one-man State of the Union Address without any partisan applause from a joint session of Congress.
Biden once commented, “when you elected me to this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth.”
That is not true, Joe.
Biden never mentioned one reason during his entire speech why he abruptly decided not to continue as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. I suppose that the American people will find out the real reasons in the near future after a Congressional subcommittee subpoenas his doctors and White House staff in 2025 if the Republicans maintain control of the House.
Biden once used the overused cliche, which I have heard over fifty times during my lifetime in other presidential campaign speeches and inaugural addresses, that it was time “to pass the torch to a new generation.” Unfortunately, Vice President Harris is just the same left wing “wine” in a new cup.
He completely lied to the American people when he stated, “I’m the first president in this century to report to the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world.”
That is not true, Joe.
We have been in a dangerous and expensive proxy war with nuclear-armed Russia since February 24, 2022. In fact, the U.S. Treasury has borrowed and spent $175 billion while the U.S. national debt is about to increase to a whopping $35 trillion next week.
As I listened to his speech, Biden’s worst lie of the evening was when he pathologically said, “We’re also securing our border. Border crossings are lower today than when the previous administration left office.”
Joe clearly must think that the average American is extremely gullible, apathetic and uninformed.
That is not true, Joe.
Both Governor Greg Abbott (D-TX) and Senator Ted Cruz (D-TX) have both stated that over ten million illegal aliens along with another million-plus gotaways have crossed our unsecured southern border under the Biden administration.
Biden believes the same propaganda spread by his buffoonish U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who has proudly parroted the same lie throughout his administration, when he infamously said before Congress on March 17, 2021 that “the border is secure, and the border is not open.” Mayorkas shamelessly repeated the same lie before Congressman Michael Guest (R-MS) on April 19, 2023.
Biden continued his de facto “campaign speech” for Vice President Kamala Harris along with a high school history and civics refresher course ad nauseam. However, I must say that I did have a positive flashback to my high school U.S. history teacher, Mr. Robert Hornbecker, who was an excellent teacher during my junior year at South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Maryland.
That was especially true when the president quoted the first sentence of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence when he said, “we’re all created equal, endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.”
Fortunately, that is true, Joe.
Never once during Biden’s entire speech did the orange-colored, spray-tanned unusually alert president ever mention why he decided he was no longer the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee when anyone with an iota of common sense knew that the real reason was because of his worsening cognitive decline and dementia since 2020.
As far as I am concerned, if Biden is not mentally or physically fit to be the Democratic presidential nominee this November 5, then he should no longer be president of the U.S. with his hands potentially on the nuclear codes.
However, I think that Biden should have cut the crap and admitted on national television why he needs to be president until January 20, 2025, but that would have been fantastical wishful thinking. The only reason that Joe is staying in the White House is so that he can give a full pardon to his crack-addicted son Hunter, and other nefarious Biden relatives. It is also painfully obvious that he does not quite fully trust Vice President Harris to issue any pardons like President Nixon fully trusted Vice President Ford in August 1974.
Meanwhile, I predict that in the next six months Biden will spend an inordinate amount of time on the taxpayers’ dime at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Camp David, Maryland, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and other expensive resorts or junkets while enjoying a much “reduced” workload at his revered Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.
So instead of working from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. I suspect that Biden will now be working only from 10:00 a.m. until noon followed by a festive lunch, leisurely siesta, pondering his memoirs, and thinking about the construction of his new and spectacular Joe Biden Presidential Library in Newark, Delaware or Scranton, Pennsylvania.
