Humans are the producers of their cultures, and they are also the contributors to their own cultural destruction. It is the ongoing equation of ‘build and destroy’ but unlike other species in the world, human beings are consciously creating this equation with a lack of objectivity.
Throughout history, many behaviors have been embraced by people and that became a significant part of their cultures, and thus, these cultures were defined as identities of diverse ethnic groups across the world. However, modern society and advanced technology can change or, perhaps, destroy human culture. Such a change / destruction in some cases is attributed to change of the political and economical systems.
Obviously, immigration can be a major crisis for cultures. It either ends the culture of the immigrated group or weakens the adherence of its members to their culture. Also, immigration has a bilateral effect on the immigrated group and the group or the country that receives it. However, immigration is one of the factors that result in cracks of the foundation of humans’ cultures.
Therefore, it is a struggle for the conservative generation to keep its chain of culture welded together while the liberal generation of the same group seeks to loosen the chain until it is completely broken.
The powerful political systems in the world are playing a major role in destroying human cultures and melting everyone in the same pot to dilute the identity of each ethnic group in the name of diversity. The purpose of such a strategy is to create an equal herd in society to follow the political system blindly and obey the rules that were set by the political elite.
Generally, the connection between members of a specific ethnic group is based on the culture they embrace. It strengthens the unity between the individuals in the group. To break this connection is to destroy the culture, and to destroy the culture is to change the political and the economical system by invading the group’s privacy, land, country, etc…
Apparently, cultural changes open a new gate for generations to take different paths and define life differently. But often, such changes are not positive for the members of the ethnic groups who embrace the traditional culture in society.
For example, when Barack Obama announced his candidacy in 2008, for the United States President, his campaign slogan was “ Change we can believe in” In fact, such a change impacted the traditional American culture negatively. Former President Obama, by announcing his support and opening the White House’s door for homosexuality, which created an open gate for the homosexuality in the United States.
Obviously, under the influence of the powerful nations and organizations – and through various circumstances – such abnormality replaces the traditional behaviors of the targeted ethnic group. Perhaps, the strategy of cultural destruction can be different but the consequence is the same.
The goal of cultural destruction is controlling humanity in a globalized leadership to dictate the world in the name of human rights. But in fact, the cultural destruction is resulting in the identity loss of the ethnic groups, and hence, drives people to alienation their nations and cultures. For example, thousands of people on a daily basis are leaving their countries to immigrate in the U.S and the Western countries. Such a situation causes people to become separated from their motherlands and debilitates the cultural connection.
On the other hand, immigration could create hostilities from the national born citizens of the countries that accepted the immigrated groups. Putting the economic burden aside, the immigrants affect the traditional culture of the nationals who have planted their roots deep throughout history. And when immigrants become a cultural threat, which possibly perceived as a cultural destruction, the nationals will react.
For example, the influence of Muslim immigrants in some European countries have become a major concern for many Europeans, and caused the rise of anti-Muslim / immigrant protests in Europe.
The political dramas and wars that are produced by the world’s ruling politicians have successfully distracted humanity and allowed both past and current dramas to influence and deceive people around the world.
