In a world where political ideologies are often labeled as either truth or lies, how can we discern which side, if any, represents the truth? Some may ask, “How can one political party be seen as ‘more Truthful’ than another?” To navigate such claims, we must first grasp the nature of truth itself.

What is truth?

Truth, by definition, is singular and unchanging. Unlike the shifting standards of
culture, truth is rooted in something far more permanent—God’s character. According to
Scripture, truth is absolute, emanating from God Himself. Jesus declares in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This means that truth is not relative or subjective but is firmly established in who God is. The Bible, as God’s Word, offers a universal standard by which actions and beliefs are judged as right or wrong.

Without this foundation of absolute truth, chaos can follow. A society built solely on the shifting opinions of culture lacks the stability and guidance that comes from the eternal principles found in God’s Word. The Bible serves as a moral compass, guiding us in discerning right from wrong, good from evil, and order from disorder. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” This divine truth should guide every aspect of our lives, especially in the way we choose to be governed.

Our nation’s Founding Fathers, seeking divine wisdom, crafted a governing body that reflected God’s truth and justice. Biblical principles provided the foundation for many aspects of our political system. For example, in Deuteronomy 16:18-20, God commands the establishment of judges to ensure just and fair rule. This principle is reflected in our Constitution, where the concept of “no one is above the law” ensures that even those in power must govern justly and righteously. Checks and balances, designed to prevent tyranny, stem from this biblical mandate for justice.

Further, Isaiah 33:22 states, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.” This verse outlines a separation of roles—judge, lawgiver, and king—that is echoed in the U.S. Constitution’s division of powers among the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. This separation ensures accountability and guards against the abuse of power.

Another crucial biblical value embedded in our Constitution is the recognition of human dignity and freedom. Genesis 1:27 teaches that we are all made in the image of God, imparting inherent worth and the right to freedom. Galatians 5:1 states, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free,” affirming the value of liberty. The Bill of Rights guarantees freedoms such as speech, religion, and assembly—protections rooted in the biblical understanding of human dignity.

A final critical value is the importance of limited government. The Bible recognizes the fallen nature of humanity. As Jeremiah 17:9 declares, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.” This reality leads to a mistrust of unchecked human authority. The Founding Fathers, understanding that human leaders could abuse power, designed a system that distributed authority to prevent any one person or group from consolidating too much control.

These are just a few of the guiding biblical principles that informed the creation of the U.S.
Constitution. As Christians, we have a responsibility to apply these truths when participating in our civic duties, understanding that God’s eternal standards provide the foundation for just governance and a stable society.

When political parties or leaders drift from absolute truth, they often fall into corruption,
inconsistency, or chaos. A key vulnerability of democracy, when unchecked, is its susceptibility to moral compromise, as it depends on the shifting will of the majority. Without a guiding standard rooted in unchanging truth, any political system becomes vulnerable to instability and, ultimately, collapse.

Historically, pure democracies have frequently descended into chaos, opening the door to
dictatorship. The French Revolution is a striking example, where democratic fervor gave way to violence and tyranny. More recently, nations like Venezuela have seen democratic systems crumble into authoritarianism due to corruption and a lack of checks on majority rule. In such cases, the fallen nature of humanity is reflected in decisions driven by personal desires rather than godly principles.

Recognizing these dangers, the Founding Fathers designed the U.S. government not as a pure democracy but as a constitutional republic—balancing democratic representation with checks and balances. This system protects against the potential pitfalls of mob rule and unbridled government overreach. It is here that the Republican Party plays a vital role, consistently advocating for preserving the nation’s foundational principles, including the rule of law, personal responsibility, and limited government.

The Republican Party’s commitment to upholding constitutional values provides a stabilizing
force in American politics. Its emphasis on limited government, fiscal responsibility, and personal freedoms is key to maintaining balance in a democratic system. This approach prevents the drift into either authoritarian control or unchecked majoritarianism. For instance, during the Trump administration, the focus on economic stability, low unemployment, and law and order reflected a commitment to constitutional principles and limited government.

Policies such as tax cuts, deregulation, and energy independence fostered a stable economic environment. The administration’s strong stance on border security and foreign policy, including the Abraham Accords in the Middle East, demonstrated how leadership grounded in strong principles can create both domestic and global stability. These actions reflected biblical values of stewardship, justice, and the protection of national interests. By prioritizing these values, the Republican Party ensures that our democracy remains grounded in the principles that have historically made this country strong.

In contrast, the policies pursued by the Biden administration align more closely with the
principles of pure democracy, which often result in instability and moral relativism. Policies such as open borders, unchecked government spending, and economic decisions leading to high inflation illustrate this trend. Additionally, the hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan and the administration’s progressive stances on social issues like gender identity have contributed to a sense of weakening leadership and growing cultural divides. These trends reflect a drift away from the stable foundations of constitutional government toward the fleeting whims of majority rule, where truth becomes secondary to popular opinion.

Conclusion: Truth as the Foundation for Stability

The biblical concept of truth has profound political and societal implications. When truth is
upheld, stability follows. When truth is abandoned in favor of moral relativism or political
expediency, chaos and corruption ensue. As we approach the elections, it’s essential to
evaluate which policies, ideologies, and leaders are grounded in truth.

The Republican Party’s focus on preserving the constitutional principles that have made the
United States strong—individual responsibility, limited government, and the protection of
personal freedoms—offers a clear path toward stability, not only for today but for future
generations. The choices we make at the ballot box will determine whether we continue to
uphold these enduring values or drift further from the biblical and constitutional foundations that have secured our nation’s greatness.

I believe that God is not finished with our nation. Greater things can still be accomplished if we seek truth and uphold the principles that reflect His character. It is through your vote this November that we will either rise to new heights or succumb to the fleeting cultural whims of man. The direction we choose will determine whether we remain rooted in God’s truth or stray from the foundation that made our nation great.
