The Navy men’s lacrosse team flew back to BWI airport after playing Notre Dame in a fall lacrosse game on Saturday. While at BWI, the team encountered 67 World War II veterans on their way home from a tour of WWII European battlegrounds. One of the players went over and asked if he could assist with their luggage and within a few moments the whole team was handling all of their bags like a set of impeccably dressed porters. After having the opportunity to shake their hands and thank the veterans for the service to their country, the team lined up and saluted them as their buses passed by. One of the coaches said, “It kind of put the entire trip in perspective.”
