Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, was recently presented the 2019 Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award commends Gardner’s professionalism, friendship and service to the organization, an alliance of Chamber executives from across the state working together to improve the business climate in Virginia while developing ways to enhance the quality of life in the communities they serve.
“To be recognized in this way by my peers, professionals I so admire and respect, is a true honor,” said Gardner, who served the organization as a board member, president, speaker, instructor and member of the annual conference planning committee.
VACCE President Susan Spears and Joyce Waugh, Roanoke Regional Chamber CEO, presented the award to Gardner from the organization’s annual leadership conference, which took place in June in Fredericksburg.
Gardner will retire in August as executive director of the SMLRCC, a position she’s held since 2002.
