I take no joy in writing about the cognitive decline of a sitting U.S. president. However, after Biden’s debate debacle with Donald Trump on June 27, it is crystal clear that “the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” as described in Section 4 of the 25th Amendment.
I do not need to have an M.D. or D.O. after my name to come to this conclusion.
During the ninety-minute debate, Biden truly appeared frail, pale and not too hale. When he spoke, he often “mumbled, repeatedly misspoke and sometimes appeared confused.” At times I cringed to look at his sporadic slack-jawed countenance on my television because I thought that I was watching elder abuse.
To say that Biden just had a “bad night” as former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) later suggested is dastardly dishonest. I strongly suspect that Biden is either in the early stages of dementia or has another neurological disease even though the White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, D.O., declared him “fit for duty” on February 28.
Since then Biden’s cognitive decline has become so bad that no U S. corporation or company today would ever consider hiring him as a CEO. And yet he is still president of the most powerful country on the planet? This all defies honesty and common sense.
In my opinion, Joe must go!
Biden needs either to resign or Vice President Kamala (“Border Tsar”) Harris and a majority of the fifteen-member cowardly Cabinet need to invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment in order to remove the president followed by the approval of a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate.
In my opinion, Joe must go!
As long as Biden remains in the White House our national security is in a most precarious predicament since our commander-in-chief must be mentally alert at all times (and not just from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) either to initiate or defend against a nuclear attack, terrorism or some unforeseen calamity. To think otherwise would be extremely irresponsible and frightening.
Unfortunately, Biden stated on July 5 that only “‘the Lord Almighty’” could convince him not to be the Democratic presidential nominee against Trump on November 5. Our national security and his historic 36% low approval rating on July 1 do not seem to worry our egotist-in-chief.
In my opinion, Joe must go!
Britain’s Guardian reported on July 6 that Dr. Kevin Canard, M.D., who is a neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s disease at Walter Reed Medical Center, has visited the White House eight times since August 2023. Something tells me that the good doctor was not at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue eight times for crudités, cheese and conversation. I wonder if he ever gave Biden a MoCA test (Montreal Cognitive Assessment) to determine his cognitive decline? I sincerely doubt it.
That is because the egotistical Biden and his status-hungry wife, who is probably his most influential advisor, are both far more concerned about their own selfish political power and plethora of perks instead of our national security and nation’s welfare. The same could also be said about the underestimated Hunter Biden and the president’s insular White House advisors, who greatly need to get out of the Washington, D.C. “bubble.”
In my opinion, Joe must go!
Whatever medication and physical therapy Biden’s White House physician has prescribed for him since January 20, 2021, they are clearly not helping the president’s worsening cognitive decline. It strongly appears according to the Guardian that Biden has been consulting with a neurologist, and it also does not seem to be helping him.
If one image could summarize Biden’s worsening cognitive decline, it would be the front page of the Economist from its July 6 edition. The cover depicts a silver four-stand aluminum walker with an oversized presidential seal attached to the front of it with a caption that states, “No Way To Run A Country.”
Unfortunately, Biden needs a “walker” of sorts, especially when on stage or leaving a podium, not so much because of a physical or orthopedic problem but because of his increasing cognitive decline since 2020. As long as Biden occupies the Oval Office with his right hand potentially on the nuclear codes, he will most certainly be neither physically nor mentally competent to run a country, especially the U.S.
In my opinion, Joe must go!
