The Roanoke Valley really is an extraordinary place to “live and move and have our being as some of our own poets have said,” and every now and then the skies part at just the right moment to remind us. Photographer Terry Aldhizer said she didn’t think much would come from a recent evening outing but then the clouds suddenly parted and the sun anointed downtown in a shaft of heavenly light.
