Knights Take Honors
Cave Spring led the way Monday as the entire Knights starting lineup were named to the All-Conference 32 softball teams.
The Knights grabbed five spots on the Conference 32 1st team, with pitcher Taylor Asimakopoulos, catcher Pami White, outfielder Abby Beatty and infielders Alayna Francis and Cassi Parulis taking top spots.
Cave Spring picked up two spots on the Conference 32 2nd team with shortstop Kylie Kent and outfielder Morgan Leftwich. Hailey Sitze and Jordan Clifton were selected as honorable mention.
White was named Conference 32 Player-of-the-Year for 2014.
The Knights’ five 1st team selections edged out Patrick County and Abingdon, which each had four selections on the 14-player team. Hidden Valley’s Sophia Robinette joined the 1st team as a utility selection.
Also for Hidden Valley, Madi Cupp, Maleigh Lombard and Kiana Cook made the 2nd team, while Titans Sidney Agee and Brooke Seale were named honorable mention.
Cave Spring finished the year 20-3, it’s second straight year with 20 or more wins.
