The free Milepost Music session scheduled for Aug. 18 at Humpback Rocks will be relocated to Peaks of Otter at milepost 85.6 on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Bedford, Va.
The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation and the National Park Service regret any inconvenience for those who planned to visit Humpback Rocks for the August concerts. The Humpback Rocks location has proven to be extremely popular with Parkway visitors, and parking has begun to exceed capacity at the site. In order to protect the grounds near the historic farm, and to ensure safe parking for visitors in any weather, the concerts are being moved to Peaks of Otter.
Milepost Music concerts will continue to be hosted from 2 to 4 p.m. on alternating Sundays through September at the following locations:
Peaks of Otter, Bedford, Va.: Aug. 11, Aug. 18 (relocated from Humpback Rocks), Sept. 8
Mabry Mill, Meadows of Dan, Va.: Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Sept. 1, Sept. 15
The Bluffs at Doughton Park, Laurel Springs, N.C.: Aug. 11, Aug. 25, Sept. 8, Sept. 22
Parkway Visitor Center in Asheville, N.C.: Aug. 25, Sept. 22
Milepost Music is a collaboration between the Blue Ridge Parkway/National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, and Blue Ridge Music Center.
