Milepost Music Brings Live Music to Peaks of Otter

Milepost Music brings live music to Peaks of Otter

Milepost Music is bringing live mountain music to Peaks of Otter, located at milepost 85.6 in Bedford, Va. Roots musician LP Kelly will perform on Sunday, Sept. 8. This will be the final concert of this year’s Milepost Music season to take place at Peaks of Otter.

Kelly’s music harkens the early days of American roots music, when bluesmen sang from front porches on hot afternoons, swing bands played dances in speakeasies late into the night, and troubadours were tradesmen not celebrities. Kelly has worked to encourage a renaissance in music that has a sense of history and place. With his voice, guitar, banjo, and a suitcase of harmonicas, he crafts original music with a familiar sound and a whole lot of guts.

Milepost Music at Peaks of Otter is sponsored by Virginia Humanities and Virginia Folklife Program.

Visitors should bring a chair or blanket for seating. Food and drinks are allowed on site, but alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Milepost Music is a collaboration between the Blue Ridge Music Center, Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, and Blue Ridge Parkway/National Park Service.
