Interactive Achievement (IA) is no stranger to asking questions. An educational technology company whose flagship product assesses student learning, the company is constantly cranking out questions.

But IA has announced it has a question not just for students or teachers; it’s asking the public to help predict when the company will reach a mega milestone.

The clock is ticking for the billionth question to be answered in IA’s onTRAC software product, used every school day by thousands of students in classrooms across the country. The award-winning onTRAC solution measures student growth and provides educators with an understanding of what students are learning in real-time, allowing them to adjust instruction and create personalized learning plans.

In anticipation of this milestone, Interactive Achievement has launched a contest asking the public to guess the date onTRAC will reach one billion questions answered. The winner will receive $500 and an additional $1,000 to give to the school or classroom of their choice.

“When a few of us former teachers gathered in a basement configuring the software and piecing together a business plan nearly 10 years ago, one billion was hardly fathomable,” said Jonathan Hagmaier, CEO of Interactive Achievement. “We are thrilled and most grateful for all the educators who have believed in us and driven the usage in onTRAC.”

Interactive Achievement is revealing just one hint to help with predictions: usage in onTRAC on a Tuesday in October was 1,913,513, and was up by 208,000 the following day.

Statisticians are certainly welcome to make their guess, but Interactive Achievement invites everyone to join in the celebration and guess the date. Visit the contest page to get started. Entries are limited to one per person and must be made by November 20, 2015.
