“Market on Melrose” To Hold Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The new grocery store marks the end of a decades-long food desert in Northwest Roanoke.
Less than one year after the groundbreaking, the Market on Melrose will open on November 13, 2024, after a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. The ceremony will bring community leaders and changemakers together to honor the partnerships and collaboration that helped to make the vision of this grocery store in Northwest Roanoke a reality. The 15,000-square-foot Market on Melrose will offer a wide variety of fresh produce, meats, dairy products and pantry staples, with an emphasis on nutritious and affordable options.
