Patrick Henry jumped out to a 19-14 lead after one quarter and led 30-20 at the halftime break, as the Patriots held off pesky Halifax County 54-49 in a Western Valley District matchup Tuesday night at the PH gym.

Halifa cut the Patriot advantage to five points after three quarters but PH was able to deflect the Blue Comets down the stretch for the win.

Marcus Banks led the Patrick Henry scoring with 19 points, while Patriot Austin Donithan added 10.

The win sets up a Friday night Jan. 11th showdown at PH between the 12-1 Patriots and undefeated GW Danville (12-0).
