The Jacksonville Center for the Arts, located in Floyd, has announced the People’s Choice Award Winners for the 11th Annual New Works Exhibit. Winners were selected by ballots cast by Hayloft Gallery visitors and the first place winner was awarded a prize of $50. Congratulations to Andrew Williams, Ruth Lefko, Michael Daiber, and Audrey Caywood for their winning contributions.
“New Works” is an exhibit that gives an opportunity for artists to exhibit their new work. All art has been created in the past year and has not been exhibited at The Jacksonville Center or elsewhere.
The winning piece was entitled “Collage II,” a mixed media artwork by Andrew Williams. Ruth Lefko won second place with the painting “Chickadee” and third place was a tie between Michael Daiber with “Tea for One” and Audrey Caywood with “Channel Lake.”
“There were many very talented artists that submitted work for this exhibit,” said Sidra Kaluszka, gallery coordinator. “Congratulations to those selected as The People’s Choice award winners.”
